Home / Adopted / 2017 / Dorothy 1
One of the saddest cases to date Wendy was found by us lying terrified under a bin in the boiling sun, clearly something was wrong we managed to catch her by hand and bring her home.
Wendy started having seizures that night, turning in circles, blind in one eye, suffering partial paralysis right side.
Our vet Eleni Maroulaki doubted she would survive the ethical repercussions of continuing were discussed euthanasia was an option but we all wanted to give her a chance. It was either a head injury or maybe toxoplasmosis affecting the brain.
Wendy within 2 days recovered the use of her right side after Diazepam to stop the seizures, and antibiotics for toxoplasmosis eating well, a happy girl she loves cuddles and talks to us but sadly she now seems completely blind.
We will continue evaluating her progress whilst nursing her she will be a special needs cat requiring a home suitable for a blind kitten.
Dorothy is a very lucky girl she recovered full sight in the left eye and full use of her affected leg! To see her now you would never know she had been so ill. Now living in Finland with Trevor she is adored and loved
